China's testing a supersonic plane that's even faster than Concorde

It's been more than 20 years since the last flight of legendary Concorde, but China may be the one to bring his spiritual successor. A Beijing-based company, Space Transport, is working for a supersonic plane that's even faster than the Concorde. NASA. In testing, [...]

A Beijing-based company, Space Transport, is working for a supersonic plane that's even faster than the Concorde. NASA.

In testing, the engine of the plane reached speeds of mach 4 or 3,600 km/h four times the speed of sound above 19994km, reports the South China Morning Post.

This is twice as fast as the maximum speed of the Concorde (Mach 2 or 2153 km/h) and the triple NASA Concorde (1507 km/h).

“This engine has great trade potential in the field of high-speed flights within spaces near space,” said Space Transport in a statement, Transmission ReportExpress.

The successful test is a kiloometric stone to develop the Supersonic Yunxing civil aircraft, which will fly passengers from London to New York in less than 2 hours.

Space Transport aims to have the plane ready for its first flight by 2027, while the first high - speed commercial flight will take place by 2030.

Yunxing Passengers will be at sufficient altitude to see Earth's bow where the horizon looks curved and unfair, a view usually seen over 54864 km.

Jindowayun Motor, or JinDou400, took the name from the “re with the Salto” used by the Monkey King in the classic Chinese Western travel novel.

On Tuesday (17 December), this engine completed its test in northwest China, reports the Global Times, the daily picture owned by the Chinese Communist Party.

Jindowun is a <x0ram-set” a kind of engine that uses moving ahead of the aircraft to compress air entering it.

These engines burn oxygen directly from the atmosphere, without the need to maintain their supplies, making it a low - cost option and high power.

This test provided key data for engine performance, waving critical systems such as fuel supply, electricity and control systems, the company said.

This also confirmed the stability and credibility of the engine, marking an important moment in its development from a prototype to a fully functional product. ”

By empowering Yunxing aircraft, Jindowun engine can open a new era of super-swift travel for passengers and travelers.

Promotive images suggest that Yunxing will have a smooth and futuristic design, more like something from Thunderbird than a traditional plane.

The aircraft will be built by light and high-powered compound materials designed to cope with extreme aerodynamic heat during flight at Mach 4.

Unlike traditional aircraft that receive horizontal speed, Yunxing will rise and land vertically, enabling them to use smaller operating spaces.

That means the plane can operate from small urban airports, avoiding the need for traditional airport tracks.

Yunxing is now a serious contender for NASA in the race to fly passengers on a supersonic plane for the first time since the Concorde era.

After years of waiting, NASA introduced its super-sonic X-59 plane, unofficially known as the Concordle Devil.

Developed by Lockheed Martin for NASA, the X-59 aircraft has a cost of $27.5 million and is able to sail at speeds of 937 mph faster than the speed of sound, but away from Mach 4.

Meanwhile, an American company called Boom Supersonic is working on its supersonic plane called Overture, which targets commercial flights in 2029.

Concord, the legendary Anglo-French creation, launched its commercial flights in 1976, but was suspended in October 2003 after the catastrophic flight accident Air France 4590.

High fuel costs, noise concerns and preferences for lower speed prices were some of the latest reasons for the Concorde.

Since then, no government or producer has managed to build a commercial aircraft that can fly faster than sound speed.
