More than 1 million people have not accepted any food meals in August in the southern and central part of Gaza through humanitarian aid, UN spokesman Stephanie Dujaric said.
Despite the challenges we face, the UN and other humanitarian organisations are continuing to do everything they can to provide rescue assistance to Palestinians”, he said.
By the end of the month, 450,000 meals prepared in 130 kitchens have been offered daily to families throughout the Gaza Strip.
The situation in Gaza continues to be beyond disaster and we still do not have all the necessary conditions to support people”, said Dujarric.
Several evacuation orders have been issued by Israeli forces, forcing 70 kitchens to cancel their services or move.
For the second month in a row, there has been insufficient supply, meaning that families in the southern and central part of Gaza have accepted only one food ration, the UN said.
The Gaza War began on 7 October, after Hamas the Palestinian group declared terrorist organisation by the United States and the European Union attacked the south of Israel, killing about 1,200 people and kidnapping another 250.
As a result of the Israeli military offensive, more than 40,000 people have been killed in Gaza, and the enclave is facing serious humanitarian crisis.
