Waitz also says he is happy to contribute to the stability of the entire region and good neighbourly relations.
“If I have the honour to do this through reporting for the state of Kosovo, I will do my best to contribute to non-violent, respectable and prosperous development in the region in general and in the region of Serbia/Kosovo in particular”, Eurodeputet Waitz told the Serbian newspaper “Danas”.
Media reported in recent days that EP MP Waitz may be the new European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo.
For the past decade, the post of rapporteurs for Kosovo in the EP has taken over by Turkey. From 2019 to 2024, the post was held by German eurodeputte Violet von Croamon and Austrian Ulrike Lunacek.
