Vetevendosje MP Wisar Korenica has used a space outside the agenda to raise the issue of a student at the school “Bedri Pejan” in Pec, which has been banned from attending class because of wearing the headscarf.
He addressed Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca as well as Education Minister Arberie Nagavci to allow her the right to education.
I don't have any other space to get word for. I'm gonna have to raise a real concern. I raised the same concern last year, and I'm sorry that the Minister of Education is in the Assembly. For four weeks a girl is not following the teaching process in Pec and is of age, she is 18 years old. Every couple of days, it appears at school and is expelled by director Musa Nikqi, and I don't understand how fair it is for us to stay here as deputies and you as a convent at the head of the Assembly, but also the Minister of Education himself and not to deal with the case and give the girl the right to go to school. We have this collective responsibility as well as both deputies and you as Speaker of the Assembly, and there's no point in continuing with the vote and not getting caught and handling this case and giving it the right to education. So, I take the message directly to the minister of education to deal with the case and not allow these problems every year to be presented for a crime we have inherited from someone else who has established a discriminatory administrative guide”, he said.
But Konjufca said that since he addressed his co-party, he needed to warn him of coming out of the agenda and told him that the campaign begins in January to deal with “all problems”.
I'm the chairman of the Parliament, so since you're looking for professionally you should warn them you were out of the agenda. First and I believe that the campaign starts on January 6th-7th and that you have all the time enough for me to raise all the problems”.
