This was announced by Eurocommissioner for Enlargement Oliver Varhely in Budapest during the Interparmentary Conference for Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and Joint Security and Defence Policy (CSDP).
“Albania has made profound reforms, especially in justice, while there are no other conditions from EU member states”, He declared, according to Europe.eu.
According to him, the sooner we fully integrate the Balkan countries, the stronger and more stable stability on the European continent will be.
We have made important decisions in these years for opening negotiations for Albania and Northern Macedonia, holding with them the first intergovernmental conferences. I hope that next month we will open the first negotiating chapter for Albania's core issues and perhaps even North Macedonia, depending on the adoption of constitutional changes”, Varhely stressed.
He announced that the European Union has drafted and implemented instruments, such as the 6 billion-euro economic growth plan to accelerate the integration of Western Balkan states into the EU. / RT S
