Tetovo-Prizren Street, Macedonian Transport Minister: We have to do a project, see if we can make it happen.

The northern Macedonia government will work with Tetovo municipality to define the project for construction of Tetovo-Prizren Street. Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikolovski said it is necessary to make the project to see if it can be realised. “It is necessary to project, and when we do, we should see [...]
“It is necessary to do the project and when we do the project we need to see what the real value of that road is, can it be realised in the way it is envisioned and, if possible, make it”, Nikolovski said, Alsat reported.
Institutions in Kosovo have already begun building the road that must connect the two cities. The original plan also envisioned the six - mile [6 km] tunnel. The cost of the project is expected to be around 200m euros.
The Kosovo government has sometimes called for no delays in building the road on the part of northern Macedonia.
On this issue, Macedonian Deputy Transport Minister Kaltrin Zekoli has held meetings in Pristina. However, officials in Skopje and Pristina also discuss another possible infrastructure connection. Nikolovski requires serious commitment by the Government of Kosovo, to invest in railway ties with Skopje, and therefore with Thessaloniki.
I think the profit will be double, first for citizens because the movement of citizens is high and the waiting time at the border will be reduced. I think we should have daily trains from Skopje to Pristina, moving from downtown Skopje to downtown Pristina. The second reason is business, economy. At the moment, Thessaloniki's representation of Kosovo businesses cannot be exploited on a rail line, but used only by vehicles because there is no proper railway connection. On our part, we have done everything we have done and we are willing tomorrow to start that” job, added Aleksandar Nikolovski, minister of transport.
Transport authorities in Pristina have been invited to official visit to Skopje on these projects.
