Albanian Democratic Party MP Ervin Saliannji has been using himself at the Tirana Police Directorate after a day earlier he was sentenced to a year in prison by the Court of Appeals in connection with the “issue, Babaclja”.

He spoke of the media before surrendering himself while saying he will continue the battle from the cell.

Earlier, the head of the DP's Parliamentary Group, Gazment White, said a unanimous decision had been made not to allow Salianj's arrest and the Democrats to be detained at headquarters.

However, Saliannji himself decided not to implement the group's decision and surrender to the police.

Viewing Salianj's political sentence on Edi Rama's orders, the opposition has declared it will respond to the war declared with protests.
