After Rama's statement to the New York Times, many thought it could be just a maneuver to draw attention.
But Prime Minister Edi Rama today has announced the United Nations headquarters for the initiative.
In fact, Rama's entire speech to the UN before the leaders of the globe seems to have been built just to make that announcement.
Part of Rama's UN statement:
During World War II, Albania became the only country that had more Jews during the Holocaust. After Kabul fell, we sheltered several thousand Afghans. Albania has given the world the newest saint, Mother Teresa.
This is the principle Albania stands for. This is the source of our inspiration to support the transformation of the Order, the World Order Centre Bektas into a sovereign state within our Tirana capital, as a new modern modernisation centre, tolerance and peaceful co-existence.
