Police action in the North, Hargrees says he has discussed Kurti “the concerns of British and partners”

Britain's ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, has announced the meeting he has held with Prime Minister Kurti today. He said Kurti discussed Britain's joint “concern and other Kosovo international partners for the government's recent action in northern Kosovo”.

Hargrees added that he has also been discussing a series of bilateral issues, including support from the United Kingdom for Kosovo Customs and Tax Administration and security, including the role of United Kingdom forces in KFOR.

While ZKM announced on this meeting it did not mention recent disagreements, but said the prime minister thanked the British ambassador even “for co-operation in the defence field”.

The prime minister thanked Ambassador Hargreaves for supporting the United Kingdom for Kosovo Customs with technical equipment for combating smuggling, as well as for co-operation in the field of defence and with the Kosovo Security Force, which is training Ukraine's soldiers in the United Kingdom under Operation Interflex and carrying out co-operation missions with the United Kingdom Army. He also singled out the fact that Kosovo is now part of the UK Export Finance Mechanism, which offers more opportunities for investment by UK investors”, says the communique issued by Kurti's office.

Kosovo authorities on Friday closed five Serb parallel institutions in the country's north, including the parallel municipality of Mitrovica, and this prompted a sharp response from the international community.
