The world's top ancestor has called it an extraordinary initiative to establish the Order of Bektash as a sovereign entity.

Bektas' global headquarters welcomes the announcement of the extraordinary initiative to establish the Bektash Order as a fully sovereign entity, bringing a new era for global religious tolerance and promotion of peace. This historic step aims to recognise Bektash's Order as an independent state, self-government dedicated to supporting its centuries-old tradition of modemation and spiritual inclusion”, the statement said.

Such a state, it says, contributes to religious tolerance as well as to peace.

The governance of the state will be guided by the Spirit Leadership of the Order, with the ancestor (Dedebaba) and a council that will oversee religious and administrative functions.
