It comes to be alarming in Greece as a result of the Western Nile virus, which only during the next week has claimed 3 lives as 12 new cases were recorded.
According to the EODY Institute's epidemiological report, 4 of the infected had come into contact with the virus in other countries.
Since the beginning of 2024, to date, 192 cases of West Nile virus infection in Greece have been recorded, of which 143 cases have had manifestations of the central nervous system and 49 were easy cases.
A total of 30 deaths have also been recorded in patients over 60.
