President Vjosa Osmani met with Cardinal Parol, Secretary of State of the Holy See last week in New York. Prime Minister Albin Kurti met with him personally, as his office announced Friday.
The presidency announced that during the meeting, Osmani “pledged the Republic of Kosovo's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the Holy See”. It also says that “Osman also spoke of the invitation for Pope Francisescu's visit to the Republic of Kosovo, which he discussed at the meeting with Pope last year”.
She also stressed the intensive work with the institutions of the Holy See for the opening of the Special Mission of Kosovo near the Holy See, viewing this as an example of Kosovo's commitment to further strengthening reports between the two countries, as well as the spirit of interreligious harmony that our country embodys with the centuries”, the Presidency announced.
The president also stressed the importance of recognition by the Holy See as an important step towards deepening interstate reports, which would also contribute to long-term peace and stability in our region”.
