Prime Minister Albin Kurti is staying in the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly Summit Week. Today was the first day of the visit, during which he had several meetings, but none with any US administration officials.
The first meeting under this visit, Kurti had with Liechtenstein's prime minister.
Liechtenstein's “Prince has consistently supported our republic in integration processes, for which we are grateful. With mutual will for reports and partnerships as strong as bilatheral, we discussed how we can increase economic co-operation and trade exchange”, Kurti wrote.
He later met with Iceland's prime minister, while suggesting that these two countries are holding discussions to reach good trade agreements with the EFTA) member states.
These meetings were held at the Kosovo General Consulate in New York. Kurti has also hosted International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
“We discussed the country's economic performance during our governance, implementation of the programmes we have with the IMF, and co-operation in meeting the agenda of economic reforms, realising investments in infrastructure and energy, improving the investment climate and advancing the environment to do business. It congratulated us on the results and success achieved in fiscal sustainability and public debt management, for which it stressed that our Kosovo can serve as an example and for other countries”, Kurti has announced.
After these meetings, in the quality of Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Kurti has participated in the annual Presidium of Socialist International, which was headed by its president, Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
