The delay was imposed after accused Dusan Maksimovic's lawyers, Vladimir Tolic and Blagoje Spasojevich demanded more time to read the subject's paper and prosecution evidence.
And after the session ended, Arianan Koci, the lawyer of the late policeman's family, Africa Bunnjak, said this is a complex trial with serious consequences for the injured parties themselves.
He said they are interested in the process as soon as possible.
I am a representative of the family of the late police officer Africa Bunnjak. We have the interest that as soon as this process is carried out, because delayed justice is denied, but we dare not make any procedural mistakes so that the Court of Appeals does not retrial it so”, Koci said.
He added that the attack that took place in Banjska has been able to have serious consequences for Kosovo's own constitutional order.
“we have 42 persons on the run, the good news is that they're in “Read Note” of INTERPOL and none of them can leave Serbia because they can immediately be arrested”, Koci said.
The lawyer further added that the defendants' defense had several requests about printing documents.
I believe the prosecution has done no wrong in this case. I invite the prosecutor to declare the least to the case”, he said.
As for the proposal to be taken by the Supreme Court for trial in absentia, Koci said they expect the Supreme to give a positive opinion, but regardless of any decision they will respect.
