From yesterday, additional tools belonging to the Multinational Specialised KFOR Unit (NJMS) have been temporarily located on the main bridge over the Iber River, in Mitrovica.
This was made known by KFOR in an answer to the Express Journal, which said such additional arrangements are part of the periodic training KFOR conducts to test its old procedures and protect its highest operational standards.
“KFOR also maintains a fixed presence on the main bridge over the Iber/Iber River in Mitrovica and continues to conduct regular patrols in surrounding areas. KFOR is monitoring the security situation in northern Kosovo and remains vigilant. It is determined to take all necessary measures to continue fulfilling its UN mandate and to respond to any further related development”, they say.
On the other hand, they stress that the NATO-led KFOR “commission reaffirms its steadfast commitment to contribute to a safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo at any time and impartially, under its UN mandate”.
“KFOR acts as the third security responseer and continues to co-ordinate closely with all his counterparts, including the Kosovo Police and the EU's mission for Law Rule (EULEX), respectively, as the first and second security responseer”.
