Hoxha: The Ministry of Education Sė bought books for students for 5m euros, now spent 20 million

Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Eliza Hoxha said the Ministry of Education is selling for innovation “inability of management” with textbooks for students at this school start.

Hoxha said failure to provide textbooks for students has cost the state 20m euros, while the official <x0-ferferfert of publishing houses has been 5m euros”.

She said the law envisions “the obligation that STAT through procurement procedures offers free textbooks”.

Such a legal obligation, she said, the ministry “deliberately and knowingly failed to meet” and “has multiplied the profits of publishing houses, and in this way, in the libraries”.

“The same textbooks, in legal procedure, would be bought much cheaper by the ministry, while citizens today are sold much more expensive because that's what Government” has put. Thus, she said the Government provided the oligarchs with <x2 million million profits”.

“After all, is the budget spent the main indicator of the school textbooks process management. Instead of buying textbooks at 5m euros, today 20m euros have been spent on the same textbooks and have gone to the same publishing houses”, Hoxha said.

If a book, which is eventually written at 7 euros, the citizen buys the same in a 12-euro library. If the extra 5 euro is bought in the library, you multiply it by the number of students (over 200 thousand), it would be spent on only one book more than 1m euros”, the MP said.

This “experiment” as it called it, Hoxha said that “should be investigated as soon as possible by the competent prosecution”.
