How much does fuel consumption grow with inadequate tires?

How often do you control your tires? The German club ADAC's auto-computer experts recommend measuring tyre pressure every two weeks. Even half a bar lower than the value described changes the driving characteristics, for example, the brake distance increases and turns get worse, it transmits Telegrafi.
The highest resistance to the wheel means that it consumes up to three quarts [0.3 L] more fuel for 100 miles [100 km].
Because of this, three billion liters of fuel are consumed each year in Europe.
If tire pressure is too high, it negatively affects driving comfort, and consumption is also uneven.
“for comfort reasons, producers usually specify only a minimal pressure. An increase of 0.2 bar is barely visible in convenience, but reduces fuel consumption without sacrificing security”, advises ADAC expert Ruprecht Müller.
It is good to measure tire pressure before driving or after a few miles. An external temperature of 20 degrees Celsius is ideal.
