Since 29 August, when the CEC opened the period for voter registration outside Kosovo, 2,700 people have applied to register to vote physically on either diplomatic representatives or via mail.
Of this number of requests, 2,442 have been approved, while only another 258 have been refused.
This data has been released by CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi.
“is continuing the period of voter registration application outside Kosovo, which started 29 August and will be completed on December 26th 2024. According to the data, by the day of September 13, 2024, 2,700 registration requirements have been accepted, of which 2,442 have been approved, and another 258 have been refused. In most cases rejected, applicants have not been photographed, while simultaneously holding the ID”, Elesi said.
Also, Elez has indicated what is the most wanted form to vote on Kosovo citizens.
“From 2,442 approved applications, 1,064 Kosovo citizens are registered to physically vote on diplomatic representation, 226 are registered to send the ballot package to the CEC mailbox in Kosovo and 1,212 are registered to send the package with a ballot in the mailbox outside Kosovo”, he announced.
The CEC has started the application period for voter registration outside Kosovo. Record application can be made via electronic platform http://diaspora.kz-x.org or through mail in the CEC mailbox.
Under the Law for General Elections, at the moment of registration, voters can individually be determined for the way they vote:
1. Vote physically in one of the diplomatic representatives of the Republic of Kosovo;
2. sending texting via mail to the CEC mailbox in Kosovo;
3. sending the ballot via mail to one of the mail boxes opened by the CEC outside Kosovo.
At one of the past meetings, the CEC has approved the list of polling centres in 19 embassies and 16 Consulates of the Republic of Kosovo that are located in 22 different states. Also, the CEC has approved the number of deployments, a total of 47 seats, as well as the number of voters for each diplomatic representation, out of 1,000 for any vote. / EO
