The current contract the Defence Ministry has for food supply for KSF members expires on 30.09,2024.
However, Liridona Gashi, political adviser to Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia, has said the contract is active today and will continue with the same service.
The food supply of members” will not be terminated, Gashi told Rtv21.
The defence ministry from October 2023 to September 2024 has awarded three tenders with negotiated procedures without publishing contract reporting, companies that were declared irresponsible by the Procuration Manager (OSHP), otherwise known as the Court of the Tenders.
The contracts provided are worth millions of euros, while they are for food supply for the needs of the Kosovo Security Force (FSK).
Following the negotiated procedure for supply of food to soldiers has been criticised by the opposition, calling the procedure questionable, while the ministry has said the need has been urgent and therefore this procedure has been selected.
The argument the Ministry of Defence has provided for opening these tenders through negotiated and not open procedure was that it has been impossible for the ministry to develop an open procedure within the deadline.
According to them, the urgent need for food supply and because open procedure caused delays, the ministry has chosen a faster way to supply food to KSF soldiers.
