The personnel and vehicles that have landed in Durres are expected to move towards Kosovo, and these troops are said to co-operate with other KFOR units “in a routine exercise of operational evidence, by the end of October”.
The aim of this exercise is to test existing procedures for quick delocation of additional troops and their integration with the KFOR mission. The exercise supports KFOR's readiness to respond to relevant security developments in order to ensure the continued and effective implementation of our UN mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 in 1999 to contribute to a safe environment for all”, the KFOR communiqué said Wednesday.
When British contingent military exercise is completed, it will return to Britain, until KFOR has suggested it will take all necessary measures “to ease the effects on road traffic that could be caused as a result of the movement of military personnel and vehicles”.
