A Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman had not said earlier whether Lam would meet Biden during the trip.
Last September, Beden visited Vietnam and secured agreements for semidiscreet and minerals and an improvement in Hanoi's highest diplomatic status, along with China and Russia, Reuters writes.
