Along with the official closure of the investigation, the defendants will also receive all final acts.
On September 11th, the Special Prosecution has closed the investigation and has announced the charges of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, his son-in-law, Jamarber Malltezi, charged with corruption in what is known as the partisan club's sporting grounds.
Berisha is under investigation for postive corruption criminal work along with his groom, Jammer Malltezi, who is accused by the SPAK of benefiting in the value of 5.4m euros from a construction business unfairly thanks to government decisions taken by his father-in-law.
Both Berisha and Malltezi have rejected the accusations and have named the investigation as orchestrated by Prime Minister Edi Rama. Also, Berisha and his supporters have singled out the move as an attempt to eliminate the opposition.
businessman Fatmir Bektash, who was charged with “active corruption” and “money laundering”, was also called at the SPAK doors. The charge of “money laundering” was communicated with Jimmy Begey, as well as financialians Andia Pustina, partners and links to procedures with Malltesy.
