Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has told of the prestigious American media The New York Times that it will build a sovereign enclave in Tirana for Bektasians, according to the Vatican model.

According to Rama, this will enable Tirana to provide the Bektashi community with an area of over 20 hectares.

New York Times writes that if everything goes according to plan, this enclave will become the smallest country and be the leader of the religious leader, Baba Monday.

The head of this community, Baba Monday, said that God does not protect anything, so he gave us wisdom”. Father Monday has added that it aims to lead over 27 hectares of land Albania wants to turn into a sovereign state with its administration, passports and borders.

Prime Minister Edi Rama told New York Times he will announce plans for entity, which will be called “The Sovereign State of the Order Bektashi”, in the near future.

The location includes the Albanian capital, Tirana and Kruja.

All decisions will be made with love and kindness”, Father Monday added.

Prime Minister Rama has declared that the aim of the new state is to promote a tolerant version of Islam for which Albania boasts.

“We need to take care of this treasure, which is religious tolerance and we should never take for granted”, he said.

A moderate Islamic microstate, the prime minister said, would send a message: “don't let the stigma of Muslims determine who the Muslims are”.

The proposed new Islamic state territory “is a complex in a low rent residential area in eastern Tirana. It's just a quarter of Vatican size, currently the smallest country in the world, run by Pope”, writes NYT.

Father Monday said about NYT that size of this state matters since “needs to become dictator”.
