Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will meet separately with the president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nayian, the first in what is expected to be a series of foreign leaders' gatherings during the week of the United Nations General Assembly.

Harris also plans to discuss efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and a hostage agreement at its special meeting with the leader of the United Arab Emirates, the first-ever visit by a president of the United Arab Emirates to the White House.
As reported, the meeting will give the democratic candidate an opportunity to demonstrate national security barriers at a time when the administration is under pressure to prevent conflicts in the Middle East.
Otherwise, the White House talks are expected to include topics also on the Sudan conflict.
