During a meeting in Washington with American prosecutors and other members of the Justice Department, Garland strongly defended the department's integrity and impartiality in the face of republican claims to politicise justice.
Garland said the rates protecting the department from political interference now matter more than ever.

His comments come amid a host of charges from Republicans, who claim the Justice Department is being used politically against former President Donald Trump.
So Republican Trump has filed two separate charges by special prosecutor Jack Smith, whom Garland brought from outside the Justice Department to conduct the investigation, reports VOA.
