AGK condemns Prime Minister Kurti's offensive language towards media
The Kosovo Journalists' Association strongly condemns the recent attack on the media today by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
The AGK views with much concern such an unacceptable effort to undermine media credibility in Kosovo without any evidence and argument, throwing charges towards the media that “are paid by past regimes” for allegedly producing false news and dezinforms concerning the Bureau for Verfiscation and Confiscation of Unjustible Riches.
In the latest Reporters Without Borders report, Kosovo has marked drastic declines from 19 countries in terms of press freedom, so we invite Prime Minister Albin Kurti to refrain from such campaigns and from his political warnings of persecution and assault on media and journalists on unconventional audiences, which further exacerbates the situation in the country in terms of media freedom and the environment of journalism.
Problemising the issue of disinformation and false news, which Prime Minister Kurti claims is not done in any way by seriously violating and without any argument of media credibility, as one of the most important pillars of democracy in the country.
