For the time 16: Even the Special Admits Judgment Against KLA Leaders Prolonged

The Special Court has continued detention of four former KLA leaders: Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi, who are being charged with war crimes.

In the final decision published by the Specialised Chambers, an interesting detail stands out.

The court acknowledges that former President Thaci and former Kosovo Prime Minister Veselin have been in custody for a long time.

Based on the decision published on August 14th, it is warned that an assessment will be made if detention is necessary and reasonable. That's considering these delays.

“However, the panel stresses that Mr. Thaci/Mr. Wessel has already been in custody for a considerable period of time and that the judgment in this case is over. As the panel has previously shown, it will require that the panel, as well as all sides, be especially aware of the need to ensure that the judgment continues as soon as possible. The panel will continue to monitor at every stage of these procedures if continued detention is necessary and reasonable”, Klankosova reportedly broadcasts in the decision. tv

Judgment against them began on April 3rd of last year.
