The European Union welcomes any action by Kosovo authorities that enables Serbs from northern Kosovo to convert their drivers from illegal activity in those of the Republic of Kosovo.
“The EU welcomes every step that has been taken in order to continue allowing as many Kosovo Serbs as possible to use license drivers issued by Kosovo”, EU foreign service spokesman Peter Stano told N1.
He added that they are encouraging Kosovo to introduce other measures that would facilitate the driver's license.
“We encourage Kosovo to adopt further measures that would enable as many Kosovo Serbs as possible to obtain additional Kosovo documents, especially a Kosovo ID, which is required for obtaining Kosovo driver”'s license, Stano added.
Today, the deadline expires for exchanging Serbia's patent drivers with those of Kosovo.
Unlike Monday, on 26 August, Kosovo police will start pronunciation fines if someone submits a driver's license issued by Serbia for Kosovo cities. Fines for failing to possess a driver's license issued by Kosovo range between 500 and 1,500 euros.
