Veton Elshani, deputy director of the Kosovo Police for the north, has said that a protest by Serbs in the northern part of Kosovo has been warned today.
Elshani has said the protest is expected to be calm. As he has said, the reason for the protest, according to organisers, is Serbia's serious “situation in Kosovo”.
He has also declared that there will be enough police to control everything.
A group of citizens in the north has warned a protest tomorrow at 11:00, in the part where they keep the protests at Car Lazar Square. There will be sufficient number of police to maintain safety. The protest is expected to be quiet”, Elshani said.
Otherwise, on Tuesday, Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has declared that in the south “Albanians will be gathered “, referring to a call from Agim Bahtiri that he made yesterday for a huge “collection”.
Vuciq has even called on KFOR to protect the Serbs.
But Elshani has exposed this, saying no assembly of Albanians in the south has been warned.
There is no announcement of such a gathering in the south”, Elshani said.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has written at “X” on Tuesday that no Albanian will march on the bridge, thus exposing Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, who has declared that “Albanians will march on the bridge of the jug”.
Vuciq has even demanded from KFOR that “protect Serbs”.
To these statements, the head of the Government of Kosovo reacted, saying these false accusations are often preambles for a planned attack by Serbia.
“With false accusations that Albanians are marching on the bridge, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic aims to create an atmosphere of fear and issue a reaction from KFOR in Mitrovica, threatening that if they fail to respond, Serbia will answer”.
No Albanian is marching on the bridge, as he falsely claims. All plans for opening the bridge have been aimed at promoting peaceful interaction between the two communities. However, these false accusations are often an introduction to a planned attack by Serbia. For everyone's safety, they shouldn't and won't be allowed to enter our” territory, Kurti wrote.
