“The Serbs kept me, Albanians brought me”, the former political prisoner confessed to the torture of Aslan Slamnik

Fehmi Berisha, former political prisoner and activist of the Albanian National Movement, has told of torture he has experienced in the hands of Aslan Slamnik, the notorious member of the State Security Directorate known as UDB. In an interview, Berisha reports the brutal violence and constant torture caused by Slamnik and his helpers.

Berisha recalls that during the Pristina investigation, two other UDB investigators -- Saban Zeqiray and Sabah Muhhajeri -- had not tortured him. However, when investigations went into the hands of Aslan Slamnik, a period of torture and intense violence against him began.

Berisha shows how Serbs kept him tied to chairs, while Albanians beat him with wooden sticks and other heavy tools.
Tortures, in addition to others, included strokes, wood and baseball bats.
It's where they started torture at Aslan Slamnik. I was at Aslan's with two assistants, and he's got a watch, he's got it Serbian once, because I'd better figure it out that way. It had been Macedonia's, Skopje, I think the Watchmen. And a Medvedja Batt (Jaccup) said that he is a professor of exercise. They were so brutal. Too wild, so much violence and torture that it's hard to describe. Except for wood, baseball bat... torture was terrible.

Investigations have been twice a day... and torture at night, as lights were turned off for Berisha to come, torture continued until 3am... These three have tortured me, and there are Serbs, but I have not given them names. They've been watching me, these (Albanians) have tortured me”, Berisha said at Debat Plus.
