The Kosovo Police's recent action at the request of the Ministry of Management of Local Power has prompted a sharp reaction from the United States of America, which has been conspiring that this institution is instrumentalised by the Government of Kosovo.
In a long statement, the American Embassy on Friday evening has expressed concern and disappointment at the actions of the Government of Kosovo in the north.
The US “government reiterates its concern and frustration with continuing uncoordinated actions by the Government of Kosovo that continue to have a direct and negative effect on members of the ethnic Serb community and other minority communities in Kosovo”.
The US has reiterated that, along with international partners, they have repeatedly urged the Government of Kosovo to prioritize co-ordination with the international community and not to take unilateral action.
The Kosovo government's “desire to respond to these requirements reflects a real and growing deterioration in our partnership. As we noted earlier, the unilateral actions of the Government of Kosovo put Kosovo citizens and KFOR soldiers at greater risk, unnecessaryly eliminate regional tensions, and undermine Kosovo's reputation as a reliable international partner. ” He writes among others.
Another serious statement in this communiqué is that the US emphasises its support and pride for the establishment of the Kosovo Police, which, according to it, is now instrumentalised by the Government of Kosovo.
“While the United States government is proud to have supported the establishment and professionalism of the Kosovo Police over many years as part of our commitment to promote security and stability, continued instrumentisation by the Government of the Kosovo Police to conduct uncoordinated actions is not in line with promises that “will continue consultation and co-ordination with the international community”. Government actions will also affect the quality and nature of our co-operation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its subordinate elements. ” In the end.
