A person arrested in Germany's knife attack

German police have now confirmed that they have arrested one person in connection with the attack, writes Bubc.

The arrest has been made “within the search”, according to police in Dusseldorf and is verifying whether it has anything to do with the event.

“is currently under way a series of police measures, including checks at various locations”, the police report said.

They also say the search for other potential authors and an investigation into the motive for the attack are continuing.

Otherwise, knife attacks and fatal shooting are relatively rare in Germany.

However, Interior Minister Nancy Fyser said the government plans to tighten rules over which knives can be transported to public, taking into account the reduction of the maximum length of knives allowed to be carried to public.
