O'Brien said he supports the US Embassy's statement in Pristina and called on Prime Minister Albin Kurti to halt actions co-ordinated with international friends.
In a post on the “X” network, O'Brien said the US is concerned by the Kosovo Government's uncoordinated and provocative actions.
” The US is concerned by the continuation of uncoordinated and provocative actions of the Government of Kosovo. We appreciate the work of those, including EULEX and KFOR, who prevent violence and call for continued content from all sides. Urgently we call on Prime Minister Kurti and his government to consult and co-ordinate with the international community and interrupt uncoordinated actions that negatively affect our partnership”, He said.
Uncoordinated actions of the Government of Kosovo forced him once again in the late evening hours to react to the American Embassy in Pristina.
It was an action by the Kosovo Police on closing down five illegal municipal facilities in northern Kosovo that provoked the harsh American response, which expressed disappointment at “with continuing uncoordinated actions undertaken by the Kosovo Government”.
The US response says recent actions are not consistent with promises made by the Government for co-ordination.
