Former Minister: Ibër Bridge opening in opposition to KFOR, Government can only do it for political and popular motives

Despite the international community's opposition, the Government of Kosovo is now warning many days of Ibri Bridge in northern Kosovo. Some Serbs who protested Wednesday have also come against this action. While, KFOR said any decision to open the main bridge over the Iber River should be made within dialogue [...]
While, KFOR said any decision to open the main bridge over the Iber River should be taken within the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, which is mediated by the European Union.
The opening of this bridge can be used by Serbian List Vuciqi to strain the situation, says former Local Power Management Minister Sadri Ferati.
He in a proposal for Periscope has said the government should not take unilateral action but co-ordinate with the allies.
“Despite the Government's right to extend sovereignty, but also to ensure free movement like it is the case of the bridge, however considering that this is also the Serbian List, a part of the citizens and Vuciqi can use it for other destructive purposes to increase tensions, and to see that Serbs are endangered, I think it is necessary co-ordination with the international community, and in this case there should be no unilateral actions of”, Ferati has said.
Ferati has said that for failing to pass the situation in the north, KFOR could ban Kosovo institutions.
He has said KFOR's opposition to the government's opening of the Ibër Bridge may be for political and popular motives.
“What had been more communicative would have been unilateral action and then the withdrawal as it did with the case of signs to be done at any cost, although it's not certain whether it's allowed, because KFOR can intervene and not allow anything to do so, but contrary to KFOR, and if the tension increases is even more cohesive, it's not the government that doesn't know these, but if it does, then it can only be political motives, for the benefit, the former minister said.
The Kosovo Government's goals of opening the bridge, as well as closing the nine sites of Serbia's Post in northern Kosovo on 5 August, have been condemned by the international community.
Kosovo police closed nine of Serbia's Post objects operating illegally in Kosovo two days ago. Against this move came the US, the EU, Germany and France.
EU spokesman Peter Stano has said that this action of the Government of Kosovo is against Kosovo dialogue Serbia and that the move leads to new tensions.
But all the issues you list are issues where Kosovo has problems. The fact that the EU imposed measures against Kosovo last year is to reflect the steps it calls on in passing. Now we are seeing more unilateral steps, uncoordinated actions. This isn't actually a suspension, this leads to new tensions. And that should be well understood by those who make decisions in Pristina”, Stano has declared.
While Germany's ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, through a post on the “X” platform, said unilateral steps clash with agreements reached in dialogue. /Periscopi
