The Kosovo Security Force operates on regular bases with Bayraktar drones bought over the past year by Turkey's state.
So said Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia.
“We're using bayraktar drones. With General Yasar, commander of the KSF, during the month, we have visited the unit of non-pilot air systems, the new unit that we have created after contracting Bayraktari” fears.
During that visit, we had communication with our military officers who run Bayraktar drones, we had the opportunity to see an operation with these fears that this unit was performing on regular grounds. So we test and operate Bayraktar drones on a regular basis”, Macedonia said.
Asked about the Serbian President's statements, Allexander Vuciq, that these fears have crossed into Serbia's territory, Macedonia said the fears are used only on Kosovo territory, but have the capacity to monitor more remote terrain.
No, we don't use drones outside the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. The capacity of these fears is to observe even more terrain than is set for fear in the air, but it has never been our goal that these fears of using to monitor other territories”.
The main aim of using these fears is monitoring the territory of the Republic of Kosovo with the aim of identifying risks to the territory of our country, not only human nature, but also natural disasters”, Macedonia said.
The minister added that along with the fears, the Kosovo Security Force has other intelligence capacities that collect security-related information.
We gather information normally even for the territory around the border when there are risks from that territory, and we see the presence of 28 military bases and 20 gendars, 300m to 5km from the border of the Republic of Kosovo, but our entities in no case cross the border of the Republic of Kosovo”, said Minister Macedonia.
