The expenses of official travel inside and outside Kosovo have marked tremendous growth during the government's mandate “, Kurti 2”. According to budget reports prepared by the Ministry of Finance, travel spending for The first six months of 2024 have amounted to 5.25m euros, or 12% more that in the same period last year,

And from 2021 to the end of 2023, such expenditures have exceeded more than 26m euros.

Kurti and his co-partisans were sometimes critical of the leaders of central and local institutions, as they said of the excessive luxury and travel of “hired”, but during their mandate at the head of government, the opposite occurred, continuing with the old ava of budget expenditures.

According to the budgetary spending document for 2023, the country's institutions during the past year for official trips abroad, travel hires, acommodation and transportation have spent 8.7m euros.

These expenditures are higher than 1.5m euros, compared to 2022 and about 5.5m euros higher than in 2021.

According to the same document, for official domestic travel, hired, accommodated transport, over 2.8m euros were spent last year, or about 600 thousand euros more than in 2022 and over 1m euros more than in 2021.

The opposition government, Kurti, has described it as the champion of luxury spending.

Shala: The government “Kurti” has broken the record of luxury spending, promised otherwise

Parliamentary Commission for Economics Chairman Ferat Shala has criticised Qiti's Government for increasing travel spending.

Shala says the “fature” of power in government luxury has broken the record of all other governments.

This year's sixth-month mark of 5.25m euros, spent on expenses, Shala deemed it too high.

There are very high expenditures, the government's cost in institutional luxury is high as ever and is the record of all governments in Kosovo”, has declared Shala.

MP PDK, Ferat Shala, said the government has exposed its promises with travel spending statistics.

The government at the time of coming to power had promised major reforms, spending reductions, minimum reduction of official travel, cars and other parts of government luxury, unfortunately all of these are exposed by the government itself and statistics”, He says.

Shatri: Expenses of luxury are the true face of this government

Former Finance Minister Haki Shatri has stated to FrontOnline that the cost of spending institutional travel during the government's mandate ʹ Kurtiʹ is “the face of power lies”.

The passage of any level of costs from previous governments, the face of this government is due to promises and roots that have been made for the people to see these slogans that have been of communism”, Shatri stressed.
