Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's office has confirmed that on Monday he will be on an official visit to northern Macedonia, with what he will meet with Macedonian Prime Minister Hristian Mickoski. This meeting will take place under the sound of two <x0incidents” that occurred in a short time between the two countries: arresting a former KLA soldier and the incident with Vjosa Osmani at Skopje Airport.
The prime minister's office has confirmed that Kurti is expected to meet the first Macedonian government on Monday. “There will be a bilateral meeting with the prime minister of northern Macedonia, with which they will discuss bilateral reports, regional co-operation and infrastructure projects of interest to the two states. The implementation of this visit is agreed on July 20th.The prime minister's office said the”.
Although the government's confirmation reportedly agreed since July 20th, two incidents, which will hardly go unnoticed, occurred prior to this date.
Incident with President Osmani
Kosovo's president faced an unusual incident at Skopje Airport. As the presidency has announced, the situation escalated when airport security attempted to take its personal phone to President Osmani and forcibly took the bag. At some point the airport security tried to physically push Osman.
“Disobeying the rules, according to the Kosovo Presidency, the Macedonian side had taken the personal hand bag of President Osmani. But the delivery of the personal phone has not been accepted by her. This behaviour of the Macedonian airport official is contrary to any international practice, under which when state leaders travel, they are protected with privileges and diplomatic immunity. The Kosovo Presidency's response was said among other things.
Furthermore, in another reaction, the Kosovo presidency has blamed the Northern Macedonia Ministry of Internal Affairs, saying the order was given by them.
“The president has rightly rejected this, given advice that he has received for years from his own security institutions. In fact, today the Skopje Airport, but Macedonia's own MPB, acknowledged that the order was issued by the North Macedonia MPB for such an audit that conflicts with the rules of dealing with heads of state according to diplomatic practices. ” It says in response.
The Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the other hand has sent North Macedonia protest marks for the incident.
There have been numerous reactions to this incident, but at least so far, the Macedonian side, through the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has not backed away from the actions of airport employees, which sparked against the Kosovo Presidency response.
Former KLA soldier's arrest
Blerim Ramadani, former soldier of The KLA was arrested while entering northern Macedonia. Ramadani was arrested after being placed on the INTERPOL list at Serbia's request. Rmadan was even assigned the detention measure, but currently released on parole. Serbia, meanwhile, is asking Ramadani from Northern Macedonia to extradite him. Ramadani is not the first to be arrested after Serbia through INTERPOL issues arrest warrants for the former KLA soldier.
So far, the friendly states of Kosovo even when “the genocide” of the arrest of KLA figures has occurred, they have always been released and extradited to Serbia.
It is not known whether Kurti and the new Macedonian Prime Minister will speak publicly about these two <x)incident” that took place between the two countries.
