Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has commemorated Bekim Berisha ébeja, Bedri Shala, Elton Zherka and Permet Voula on the 26th anniversary of their fall.
Beyond a Facebook script, Kurti has said these four Kosovo Liberation Army fighters fell martyrs fighting Serb forces in the Yunik area.
He has now said they were staunch fighters who, with their activity and war, set an example to all who later voluntarily lined up in the KLA ranks.

Today on the 26th anniversary of their fall, we remind the martyrs of Kosovo freedom: Bekim Berisha ébeja, Bedri Shala, Elton Zherka and Permet Vula.
On August 10th 1998, these four Kosovo Liberation Army fighters died fighting Serb forces in the Yunik area. By being killed in the first months of the war in Kosovo, Bekim, Bedriu, Elton and Permeti were staunch warriors who, with their activity and war, set an example for all those who later voluntarily lined up in the KLA ranks.
Born in 1966 in Graboc, Peja, Bekim Berisha is the purest fighter of war against Serbia's genocide regime, as a fighter of three wars in Yugoslavia -- first in Croatia, then in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and finally in his homeland and homeland in Kosovo. With an extraordinary life experience with extensive and proven military knowledge, Bekim Berisha Abeja was one of the most powerful and creative fighters among KLA fighters. On August 10th 1998, he was killed in combat with Serbian forces, along with Bedri Shala, a 29-year-old brave boy from Drenica's Djurdica. Just as they had fought together in Jasic two weeks earlier on July 26th, Bedri Shala and Bekim Berisha fought in defense of Junik, falling martyrs of the nation in the same battle on August 10, 1998.
The son of Gjakova, born 1977, Elton Zherka was perpetuated among the martyrs of freedom nine days before she was 21 years old. A distinguished martial arts and sports athlete, Elton was mobilised in the KLA along with twelve other volunteers on April 18, 1998. Among them was Permet Voula, also from Gjakova, who had just become 20 years old when he wore the KLA uniform. Trained physically by his activity as weightlifting and footballer, Elton and I lined up at the “Comando” Dukagjin Operative Zone and fought together for freedom until death.
Glory to Bekim Berisha Abej, Bedri Shala, Elton Zherka and Permet Vula, among the martyrs fallen for Kosovo freedom!
