In the report, the UN has indicated it is contrary to the principle of free market economy.
According to them, this directive will increase prices from import for consumers, as well as stimulate corruption from bureaucracy to get import permits

Kosovo Business Alliance - KB rejects Minister of Industry, Resigneryê and Trade - N.S. 06/2024 for determining rules and procedures for managing quotas to import.
Agim Sahin, head of the GDP, said this approach belongs to the economy, which is planned by the past system, which is contrary to the principle of the free market economy guaranteed with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.
This directive will raise prices from import for consumers, as well as stimulate corruption from bureaucracy to get permission to import specific products based on quantum usage.
The GDP urges MINT to leave free businesses in open competition without interference and favour for any economic operators.
