The deputy head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Avdullah Hoti, has declared that the policies of Kurti government have impoverished Kosovo and caused economic development to stalled “in the absence of large public investments”.
Hoti has written on Facebook on Tuesday that during the rule of Prime Minister Alin Kurti, the cost of energy and taxes has increased, but not even pensions and salaries.
The Kurti government's fiscal policies are summed up in lowering pay taxes for 6.8 euros, which goes into effect from September. Here are the deep fiscal policies in this government mandate!! The country is impoverished as inflation has reduced real wages by about 1/3. Salaries in the public sector have not been increased, at least nominally to protect against inflation. Not even pensions and other benefits have increased, except for once-in-a-life aid. But the energy and taxes on property have increased, along with the price of food enzyme”, Hoti said.
According to opposition party deputy, about 1 billion euros from the planned means in capital investments have not been spent.
The municipalities' investments, however small, have been hampered through delays in government access. Foreign investments have been reduced to the expenses of exiles mainly in real estate, as investments from foreign companies almost have no”, he added.
He has also accused Kurt of obstructing reports with internationals.
This is understandable since Kurti and his coalition with Osman and others turned Kosovo into a security problem for allies. Their approach, based on local political agendas and uncoordinated with allies, blocked Kosovo's Euro-integration agenda, blocked new recognitions and memberships in international bodies and turned Kosovo back. Today, Kosovo is viewed by allies not as a country with challenges for Euro-Atlantic integration, but as a country with regional security challenges where the presence of KFOR should be increased, visited by top intelligence officials”, Hoti has written.
