Hamza from the White House: US backs Kosovo sovereignty, territorial integrity

The candidate for prime minister from the PDK ranks has provided details from his visit to the White House in the US, Perscope reported Wednesday night, writes Periscope.

While meeting President Biden's Special Assistant Ambassador Michael Carpenter as well as Director for the Balkans and Central Europe (KSK), Catherine Larkin, Hamza indicated that from them they received the assurance that the US supports Kosovo's independence and territorial integrity.

He further indicated that recognition of Kosovo's independence by five EU countries were mentioned

I started my visit to the U.S. with a meeting of President Biden's Special Assistant Ambassador Michael Carpenter, who is at the same time Senior Director for Europe at the Council for National Security (KSK), and with Director for the Balkans and Central Europe (KSK), Mrs. Catherine Larkin. The message I received was clear: The US stands next to us and supports Kosovo's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

We agreed that now is the time for progress in consolidating Kosovo towards recognition by the five EU member states, which have not yet recognised Kosovo's independence, towards ensuring Kosovo's Partnership for Peace guide and ultimately in NATO and the EU. These are the strategic goals we talked about widely. I briefly introduced my vision and plan for Kosovo to move faster towards economic development, wage increases in the public sector, capital investments and increased citizens' welfare.

For the realisation of all these goals, partnership with the US is of vital importance and for Kosovo and me irreplaceable.
