Fajon: EU accept Albania at maximum by 2030

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Tanja Fajon in her address at the joint conference with her counterpart from Albania, Igli Hasani, said the Slovenian consulate would open next year in Durres. Stopping the desire and need for intensification of relations [...]
By halting the desire and need for the intensifying of Albania-Slovenian relations, Fajon said air ties should be established between the two countries in the future.
She stressed that co-operation between the two countries is focused on different areas, but economic areas take the top place.
The latter said Slovenia is part of many development projects in Albania, while stopping in technical assistance offered to Albania for European integration.
Fajon guaranteed that Slovenia will be a sure supporter of Albania's EU integration.
And Minister Igli Hasani said that, among other things, they have discussed the journey towards united Europe.
“Albania has taken important steps in meeting the necessary reforms. The Albanian government has worked hard to implement reforms required for membership in the European Union, particularly in justice reform, where the property of judges and prosecutors and the creation of new institutions in justice are deeply positive. While full and sustainable implementation is essential. The fight against corruption and organised crime has marked an apparent progress not lacking even high-profit cases but also the consolidation of the independent and efficient justice system. The achievements in these areas make Albania's progress vulnerable and visible”, he said.
