New research has revealed that watching TikTok videos on extreme weight loss can damage your mental health
Spending time on this social network, and especially viewing content that promotes anorexia, undermines young women's confidence and increases the risk of eating disorders, according to a study by Charles Sturt University in Australia.
Our “Search showed that less than 10 minutes of exposure to the content of TikTok that promotes anorexia had immediate negative consequences in creating an ideal image of the body”, the authors of the study said.
They added that a negative psychological impact can happen even when female users do not necessarily require this kind of content and use this social network for a short time.
To combat this problem, the authors of the study recommend stricter controls and regulations regarding promoting anorexia, eating disorders and TikTok content that promote body “ideal”.
“Are currently taking steps to remove dangerous content, including the blocking of hashtags such as #anorexia. However, there are various ways in which users overlook these checks and further adjustment” is needed, the authors of the study stressed. /Telegraphy/
