“Discutions are continuing, and the European Union is closely co-operating with international partners in Kosovo”, says the response to Tanjug's question of the situation on the bridge in Mitrovica and whether EULEX has spoken with someone from the Kosovo Government about what they are planning and whether they can change the decision to open the bridge.
The EU has repeatedly declared that the bridge issue should be discussed within the framework of the European Union-led dialogue and has warned that it will be the subject at the upcoming meeting in Brussels.
Kosovo has warned the opening of the main bridge over the Iber River in Mitrovica, though Belgrade and Serbs in northern Kosovo oppose, stressing that this threatens the security and survival of Serbs.
Against the opening of the bridge in Iber at the moment are KFOR, US, QUINT and O The SEU, which believes this issue should be part of the dialogue between the two sides.
