US Embassy in Kiev warns its citizens of danger from Russian air strikes

The US Embassy in Kiev has warned its citizens of an increasing risk of Russian air strikes throughout Ukraine in the coming days.

The US “Embassy in Kiev estimates that over the next few days and over the weekend there is an increasing risk of Russian drone and missile attacks during the night and day throughout Ukraine”, said in a statement of the US diplomatic mission published Wednesday.

The embassy's assessment is made concerning Ukraine's Independence Day on 24 August.

The statement calls on American citizens in Ukraine to monitor local media for each update, as well as to identify countries where they can take refuge before any air alarm, Anadolu broadcasts.

American citizens are also directed to seek refuge immediately if air alarm is declared and to follow instructions given by Ukrainian officials in case of emergency.
