In discussing with Serbian citizens in the Northern Mitrovica municipality on the issue of opening the Ibër Bridge, Elshani spoke of police professionalism as he stopped at the Banjska case. He said the order was to shoot every person in uniform and gun, but not if they're seen walking into the house.
It wasn't a success in Banjska that we killed someone, because we never went to kill anyone again. The biggest success in Banjska has been that there were no civilian casualties. And how is that done? With training, professionalism, equipment, trying to save people. The order that day was: you see a man in uniform, with a gun, you have a knee; if you see him walking in the house, you go with your knee that what's at home. And that's how we're out, we've got women, old people, old people, and they've all been in good condition”, he said.
Elshani said there are “very close to citizens” north of the country.
