Yesterday and today, the CIA chief has had meetings with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and AKI chief Petrit Ajeti.

This line, following continued tensions between Kosovo and Serbia. Burns' visit is seen as a message for a decomposing of the situation between the two countries in our region, given the fact that the world is facing war.

What the CIA chief told the heads of state is unknown. However, of what the president announced, and the prime minister is not showing much. When the effects of this visit will be seen, it remains to be seen...

Osman announced in short, but on the other hand, Kurt was a little taller.

The country's first has suggested that it has been a pleasure to meet with Ambassador Burns.

In its account in “Facebook”, she wrote that the U.S. alliance is a guarantee of security and peace.

“Alliance with the United States, competition for security, peace and success! The pleasure I hosted yesterday in the Republic of Kosovo, chief of the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Ambassador William Burns.” wrote Osmani, who the American official met yesterday.

“This visit represents a significant historic moment in Kosovo's bilateral relations, the US, where the commitment of the Government and Kosovo's security and intelligence institutions, with the top AKI, to advance co-operation with the CIA, was stressed. The CIA director's historic visit, Mr. William Burns, in Kosovo, is highly valued by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. It is evidence of strong and lasting relations between the two states and is a golden opportunity to deepen strategic co-operation, for peace and security in the region and beyond,”, has been said in the Government's announcement.

Furthermore, Kurti is said to have thanked the senior US official for visiting and supporting the US for Kosovo.

“Prime Minister Kurti thanked the CIA's director for continued support and expressed commitment to deepening co-operation in areas of common interest, announcing that American values, connecting with democracy, rule of law and steadfast Euro-Atlantic orientation, will remain the central pillars of good and democratic governance in Kosovo”, the announcement has been said.

Among other things, the prime minister has recognized William Burns for the economic growth Kosovo has experienced.

“Prime Minister Kurti informed Director Burns of the growth and economic development, as well as the social and democratic progress of Kosovo, stressing that all domestic security challenges are being managed successfully with the force of the right law of our democratic state. In the past three years, he added that Kosovo's Local Product has increased 33% and the state budget for 35%, with the annual budget rate of 11.1% (or 1/9) dedicated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Defence Ministry”, it is said in the statement.

Reactions by Opposition

Former Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has said Kosovo's policy has changed for the worse, and all this is due to the political dogmas of Prime Minister Kurti of President Osmani.

According to Hoti, Kosovo had goals only in terms of economic development and Euro-Atlantic integration, but with Kurti and Osman leadership it has changed political orientation.

Hoti has said Kosovo has already turned into a security issue for its allies.

From a country with challenges to economic development and Euro-Atlantic integration, Kosovo turns into a security issue for allies from declaring independence, we have worked hard after government to remove Kosovo from the list of countries with security problems. In close co-operation with the allies, difficult and unpopular decisions have been made, but they represent Kosovo with the West. We received new recognitions, membership in international mechanisms, becoming part of regional and international initiatives, progressively making Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic future a statement.

Political stability, internal integration of communities, normalisation of regional relations and other actions assured Kosovo economic development and progress on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration. Consequently, we managed to remove Kosovo from the list of countries with security problems and put it on the list of countries with challenges to economic development and membership in the EU and NATO. I am convinced that this has been the wisest policy for Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic integration”, says Hoti's Facebook post.

According to Hoti, all this political change has occurred because of the political dogmas of Kurti and Osman.

He has said that the CIA chief's visit to Kosovo would not be necessary in past governments.

Unfortunately, Kosovo's people, the political dogma of Kurti and Osman, and their confrontation with the Allies of Kosovo's sovereignty for the order of actions in the north turned Kosovo into security issues for NATO and the EU, as well as the main ally of Kosovo, the US. Of course, Serbia used this situation with a tendency to create a new wave of crisis in Europe, as evidenced by the September 25th 2023 terrorist attack.
Consequently, the CIA chief is forced to land in Pristina. He would have to land in Bosnia and Serbia, but not in Kosovo. Kosovo would have to carry out all co-ordination with the US as it always did, through Ambassador to Pristina, with the State Department and the White House. In Kosovo it would have to launch American and European companies for development projects of highways and railways, gas, private projects in areas of various sorts, all of this money in the September 4th 2020 Washington Agreement, and in the Kosovo Investment Promotion Agreement- US on December 31, 2020,”, says Hot's post.

On the other hand, AAK leader Ramush HaradinajHe welcomed the CIA chief William Burns meeting with the president and prime minister.

He has suggested that meeting the top US official with Kosovo institutional leaders is good news.

In his account in “Facebook”, he has written that Kosovo institutions must stand firm for the alliance with America.

Honored Kosovo citizens, the visit of the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Mr. Burns in Kosovo is a great honour for Kosovo and good news for our security. For us, integration into the Euro-Atlantic family is vital, and the alliance with America is eternal. Kosovo institutions must stand firm for the alliance with America. Mr. Director's meetings. Burns with the heads of institutions are good news for Kosovo. As for Kurt and his agenda, we allow time to testify, but no one can risk Kosovo's alliance with America. It is eternal and vital.”, Haradinaj wrote.
