Burns has met with State President Vjosa Osmani and AKI chief Petit Ajeti on Thursday, until Friday he met with Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
After meeting with the CIA chief, the first state wrote about meeting with Burns.
She in a brief Facebook post stresses that the alliance with the United States is a guarantee of security, peace and success.
The welcome I received yesterday in the Republic of Kosovo chief of the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Ambassador William Burns. The alliance with the United States is a guarantee of security, peace and success”, she writes.
And after Kurt's meeting with the CIA chief, media communiqué has released Kosovo Government on Friday, and then Prime Minister Kurti himself wrote.
In a Facebook post, by the Government of Kosovo reportedly the historic visit of CIA Director William Burns to Kosovo is highly valued by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
Republic of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti received CIA Director William Burns at the meeting. This visit represents a significant historic moment in Kosovo's bilateral relations, the United States, where the commitment of Kosovo's Government and Security and Intelligence institutions -- to advance co-operation with the CIA -- was stressed.
The CIA director's historic visit, Mr. William Burns, in Kosovo, is highly valued by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. It is evidence of strong and lasting relations between the two states and is a golden opportunity to deepen strategic co-operation, for peace and security in the region, and more broadly”, the report says.
Meanwhile, Kurt points out that strong bilateral relations with the United States want to strengthen and expand further.
“The CIA Director's vision, brilliant diplomat William Burns, was a very good opportunity to negotiate a wide range of topics and deepen and advance our strategic co-operation, in service of democratic peace and Euro-Atlantic security in the region and beyond.
I also expressed continued commitment towards common values and principles that are related to freedom and democracy, rule of law and order, as well as steadfast orientation towards NATO and EU membership. I thank CIA Director William Burns for his continued support and this historic visit to our country”, he writes.
Former Albanian diplomat Agim Nesho has said that the CIA head's visit to Kosovo, Bosnia and Serbia is an indication that this region is receiving increased attention and that the region is at a critical moment that has been warned earlier.
Nesho says the head of the CIA is a prominent man who represents the DASH and a man who knows Russia very well.
“This shows that this region is receiving increased attention and that the region is at a critical moment that has been warned earlier, as Russia seeks to provoke in the Balkans with countries like Serbia, where it has a broad infrastructure”, he told Ora News.
The director of the Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development (KIPRED), Lulzim Peci, has reacted to CIA Chief William Berns' visit to Kosovo.
He has criticised the Government of Kosovo, which in the media report about Kurti's meeting with the CIA chief has cited economic growth in Kosovo.
In his account in “Facebook”, Peci wrote that Burns has not come to Pristina to hear how democratic Kosovo is and what economic growth it has.
According to him, the Government's announcement had tones of election campaign.
Therefore, I think that the Facebook postings of the executive, in the case of Prime Minister Kurti's meeting with the Director Burns, should not have had to be made of a pre-election campaign, which has no positive effect, except that they lower the credibility of the Government of Kosovo in the eyes of Sashington, as they certainly do not present the substance of the meeting”, he wrote.
He has suggested that such statements hurt even more reports between the two countries.
Who understands diplomacy well knows that such statements are about cohesiveness of trust, which we have long lost in the eyes of the United States. A correct post after this meeting could be a good step towards rebuilding this lost faith. While the relationship between Kosovo and the United States is <x1 strong and sustainable” I will only believe it when Washington says it, and I will be very happy. But, so far we haven't heard anything like this”, Peci wrote.
