Canada's National Defence Department has said Ukraine is free to use weapons donated by Otawa on Russia's territory.
“Ukrains know best how to protect their homeland, and we are committed to supporting their capacity” said the department's spokeswoman, Andee-Anne Poulin, television reports BBC.
Canada's permit comes after publishing a video that supposedly showed a patrol vehicle of Canadian production by entering Russia's territory.
“Canada does not impose geographical restrictions on the use of military equipment we give to Ukraine” ) spokeswoman Paulin added.
Canada has pledged $4.5 billion in military aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian occupation. These include tanks, drones, antiaircraft artillery, ammunition, rockets and armoured vehicles.
The day before, the Ministry of Defence of Great Britain said Ukraine has the right to use British weapons for self-defence, which has not changed even after Prime Minister Keir Starmer's leadership came to power, signaling that these weapons can be used in Russia as well.
