The President of the United States, Joe Biden, spoke over the phone with Ukraine's president, Voldymyr Zelensky, on Friday evening, to re-inflammatory him with the steadfast US support of the Ukrainian people.
In a media communiqué on the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day, Beden also announced a new package of military aid to Kiev.
The new package includes antiaircraft missiles, equipment to fight drones, antitank missiles and ammunition.
The media reported a $125 billion package, but this figure was not mentioned in the White House communiqué.
Biden said the new aid is “the continuator of a series of historic steps that we have taken with our allies and partners in recent months to support Ukraine”.
It will also again that the United States and its allies and partners “will continue to stand side by side [Ukraine] at each step”. /rel
